This house was written up in the Home & Garden section of the AJC on Friday, May 5. They described it as the latest weapon in the war on aging. The features in the house make life less difficult as we age.

Winston H. Gandy, Jr. M.D.

At our April meeting, we had a wonderful speaker: Winston H. Gandy, Jr. M.D., who is a cardiologist with the Atlanta Cardiology Group.

Dr. Gandy is a gifted speaker who provided an interesting presentation, which included the risks and treatment of cardiac disease.  Although he did not provide specific handouts at the meeting he did recommend that everyone access the following website:  http://www.acg.cardiologydomain.com/  There is a world of information on this website including a test you can take to determine your risk of heart disease, tips on prevention, on treatment and heart healthy recipes.

APPA's 2006 Holiday Party was a roaring success.  Petite Auberge in Decatur served a delicious French banquet with such delectable choices as Beef Burgundy, Chicken Cordon Bleu and Chicken in cognac cream sauce.  Everyone is ready for a repeat reservation for next year!  We had great fun and door prizes under the able direction of Cheryl Hollis, and wonderful holiday music at the piano played by concert pianist, Marjorie Sperry.  Thank yous go to the Holiday Party Committee made up of Cheryl Hollis, Sylvia Gray and Linda Priest.
