Barbara Mayer

Barbara has been an APPA board member from 2014-2022.  She was selected as the March of Dimes poster child for Maricopa County in 1956.  With a career in nursing she was selected as Nurse of the Year for the Cottage Health System.  She contracted polio at the age of 22 months while living in Phoenix. She wore a leg brace on her right leg as polio affected her from the waist down. Barbara will discuss her life as a polio survivor.
