About the Event
Ms. Thomas is a certified State Health Insurance Program counselor with Georgia Cares. She was originally a medical social worker who concentrated her work in geriatrics in the state of Ohio. She is a widow with one child, a daughter, and one grandchild.
Ms. Thomas moved to Georgia in the fall of 2009 and in the summer of 2010 started volunteering with Senior Connections. A couple of months later she volunteered with Georgia Cares through the Atlanta Regional Commission's volunteer program also. She volunteered for four years. Then the Georgia Legal Services Program began to sponsor the Georgia Cares program and she was hired as one of the staff counselors. She has been with the program for nine years.
Ms. Thomas will present updates on Medicare changes and congressional updates for drugs. She will be available for questions after her presentation.
