Shelly Simmons

Shelly Simmons, the Executive Director  of the Statewide Independent Living Council of Georgia, a non-profit organization, with the vision of, "equal participation of people with disabilities in their communities" will be the guest speaker for the June 1 APPA meeting from 1-3 pm.  She works with state agencies and organizations and the Georgia legislature to help develop effective and efficient policy directed towards Georgians with disabilities.  She has a Bachelors in Communications and has worked in Independent Living for over 25 years.  She will be showing a video which explains the three year plan of the organization in regards to accessible housing, technology and transportation issues.  

She will be available for a question and answer session.
